About Us

'Three highly experienced musicians performing at the highest level. Innovative programming and consummate playing.'

Huw Wiggins, Royal Overseas League adjudicator.

The Levanto Ensemble is a dynamic wind trio who came together with the shared desire to discover and perform a variety of lesser-known works for this unusual combination of instruments. They met in 2017 whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music and began performing in a wide range of ensembles together.

The ensemble were finalists in the Royal Overseas League Competition 2021 and semi-finalists in the renowned St. Martin in the Fields' Chamber Music Competition, 2020. As a trio, they play and perform across London and the South East, and are currently tutored by Sarah Burnett, bassoonist of the Haffner Wind Ensemble and the Marais Ensemble.

All members of the ensemble are currently pursuing multi-faceted performance careers including chamber, solo and orchestral opportunities. They have performed and recorded with many of the UKs leading orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and orchestra of the English National Opera, across England and around the world. As soloists they have performed at venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, and the Royal Concertgebouw Recital Hall, Amsterdam.

Whilst the trio has delved into a wide range of repertoire, from Classical to twentieth century, they have a particular love for modern works that explore, contrast, and combine the unique nuances of these three instruments.

The Levanto Ensemble are proud to be Live Music Now Artists, taking classical music to care homes, schools, and hospitals around the South East of England.
